They define what they are, and if you are not part of them, purely by RACE, then you are the Enemy and must be reeducated, subjugated, or destroyed. Look, I really don't want any kind of battle lines drawn up. I think that a Race War would be going back HUNDREDS of years, we'd be undoing every single piece of REAL progress, AMERICAN Progress, the Progress of Freedom and Self Sufficience, in the blink of an eye. But if I ever find myself in the middle of the street, and on one side is an angry BLM crowd, even with White People in it, and on the OTHER side of the street is the actual fucking KKK, I feel like I'll be forced to side with the crowd that isn't LITERALLY calling for my blood. I won't enjoy it, but in a situation where a fight is brought to me that I can not avoid, I'm gonna choose the side where I am NOT 100% drawn and quartered after victory.

So true, it's cool to share, learn and live amongst diverse cultures because America is literally a melting pot but people should remember that being a citizen here means we all identify as Americans. Unfortunately, people stake too much of their worth and identity on the color of their skin or their race (I saw this all the time growing up as 2nd generation American within my group of friends) even though as individuals we are so much more than that. This is why racial/identity politics, cultural dynamics, e.t.c can become hypersensitive to the point of being toxic and divisive as we are seeing with all the crazy stuff happening with BLM and Antifa.

As a melting pot nation, the glue that binds us together is culture. Freedom, independence, free speech, freedom of religion, Western values.

The glue is being torn apart by the left on every level. Children are being taught in school that capitalism bad, rich is bad, equality of outcome is expected, we're a racist Country, victim mentality is encouraged, etc.

Social media is used by the left to strengthen their bullying, Karens who in the past would yell at kids to get out of the yard now have power on social media, Tech giants are censuring the right. Boy Scouts is destroyed. Sports was part of the glue where we cheer together for our teams, but now have become divisive, players kneeling and fans yelling at each other on their opinion of social issues.

The only way this ends will is for us to get back to what you stated. We are American first and foremost. We are not defined by our immutable characteristics. We embrace our Constitution, it's values, our culture and equality for all people. We currently are not winning the culture war. POTUS winning in a landslide will hopefully be a good start at swinging the pendulum back to normalcy.

Never been a more important time to exercise the first amendment and back it up with the second.

I was once in a relationship with a Hispanic girl who - through her whole life, born and raised - lived in America. Her parents were from Mexico, but outside of a few week vacation down there years ago, she had never set foot on Mexican soil. We were talking about politics and she said something like “I’m Mexican”. I corrected her and said “No, you’re American.”

She got pissed like you wouldn’t believe and apparently I’m the idiot for not realizing someone 100% immersed in the culture, teachings, and traditions of the American community for through their entire life was obviously something entirely different.

I should’ve asked that she start referring to me as English even though the East coast was as close as I ever got to the UK.
