Ask the people who showed up to exercise their First Amendment guaranteed right to assemble to worship and were abused by police very willing to follow an obviously, unambiguously illegal order to violate their civil rights. That arrest, that violation of their rights, constitutes abuse.
When police show up to enforce an illegal order, any resistance you put up makes YOU the illegal one, puts YOU in legal jeopardy, puts YOU in handcuffs, and so you get abused again.
