I’m not sure the mayor is allowed to declare their party. He may have tried to give the impression that he is a republican, but that is to be expected when running for office in a “conservative” city. His actions show that he is cautiously liberal when he can get away with it. Also, there are rumors that he is closely aligned with kathy taylor who was a liberal nut job when she was mayor.
