BTW, as an historical aside, how many know NYC had in the 1700's the 2nd largest slave population of cities in the USA - 2nd only to Charleston, SC (slavery ended in NY in 1827)?

How many know a form of slavery (unpaid mandatory "apprentice" servitude) continued in New Jersey until 1865, when it was outlawed by the 13th amendment's prohibition against slavery?
