I make it a point to watch the History Channel programming of both the American and French Revolutions every year around Independence Day.
The latter was absolutely astounding to me. All the holidays and celebrations they made around it, the firebrand "journalists" who got innocent people murdered and who themselves were murdered, creating their own new calendar, creating their own new reality.....and all the people who were silent for fear of retribution.
