If by some dark miracle Biden were to win, two days after Inauguration he'll resign "for health reasons" and the VP pick will take over. From an objective POV, it's a neat trick to sneak in a flaming hard-left ideologue while you're at it.
And they'll try to claim their pick will be the first "POC" to be VP, even though there was already a Republican VP who was American Indian 90 some years ago.
