while COVID19 has been massively overhyped, as you said, it is definitely deadlier than the influenza. Well over 120k people have died in the US. Excluding those who were presumed to have had covid (i.e. not confirmed) and people who died from cancer but also had covid will still yield a significantly higher death toll than a typical flu season.

My opinion....its okay to acknowledge that Covid was a nasty piece of shit and also to say that many of the responses (particularly the lockdown orders) were a massive over-reaction.

COVID Mortality Rate: 0.1% for whole population;0.1% for older than 64; 0.01% for 41-63 year olds, and 0.000% for anyone below the age of 41. Based on Singapore data.

Pedes - I am US citizen, living in Singapore since 1997. Below is the COVID-19 data from Singapore Government, which sends out whatsapp updates 2-3 times a day to everyone in the country. The data is five days old, but key points are still absolutely valid.

Singapore Government data is the only data I trust to not be understated (like Indonesia) or overstated (like US).

Summary: 25 deaths out of 37,527 cases. Mortality rate of less than 0.1%, similar to flu. Mean age of deaths is 73; average age of deaths is 73. Every single death had co-morbidity conditions - mostly cancer, heart disease and/or diabetes.

The four youngest deaths: 41 years (death #25, on 6 June), 51 years (death #24, on 1 June), 58 years (death #15, on 30 April) and 60 years (death #16, on 1 May). All other deaths were 64 years or older. So the mortality rate of someone between the ages 41 and 63 is 4 out of 37,527 or 0.01%. Far lower than the flu.

And the mortality rate of someone younger than 40 is zero. The majority of the 37k cases were below the age of 40. Most cases were Work Permit holders living in foreign worker dormitories - foreign low income construction workers (Malaysians and Indians) who live in dormitories owned by the construction companies. These foreign construction worker dorms are almost all men, 18-30 years old, living 4-6 people to a dorm room with common bathrooms and common facilities.

Singapore hospitals are not using medical treatment, other than oxygen therapy. Around 80% of patients do not need treatment, and are just monitored and isolated. No treating with hydroxychloroquine, Zinc or other treatments. The other 20% are treated with some level (4 different levels) of oxygen therapy (detailed in article below).

US deaths are hugely inflated and US was target from the outset. infected people flown into NY in jan, feb. governors putting infected people in nursing homes, non-covid deaths being documented as covid deaths, co-morbidity conditions documented as covid deaths. there is a reason NY and NJ account for more than 1/3 US deaths.
