My company is getting backlash for asking people to come into work. One already told HR it is a hostile work environment. Another took leave that we have to pay for. We supply masks, hand sanitizer, and everyone has their own enclosed office, no open working space, they have their own safety room with a door, but apparently people don't feel safe, or, actual excuse "I don't want to drive that far." You did before this?! What changed?!

Push. Quitters don't get unemployment.
Document everything. Every no show. Every tardy. Every insubordination, disrespect, etc. Make offenders complete the most tediously boring retraining.
But more importantly, reward those who show up. Take people out for drinks. Have a pizza party. Play pin the mask on the commie.
