I thought the same thing when I heard it on 'You' as well but then I realized the characters were leftists and would of course use language like that. Seemed like good writing in fact. Also keep in mind the main character virtue signaling about being a 'Democrat' only for him to be a sociopathic murderer. Seem like that fits a liberal perfectly. See also the Byrd's in Ozarks
