I hear 'mansplaining' much less that I did 2-3 years ago. It was so toxic. I would often disagree with a friend, respond to her in the same way I would with a male friend (presenting facts showing an alternate view), and they got accused of mansplaining. It was infuriating. So hypocritical too, its a sexist accusation of sexism. 'whitesplaining' never took off in the same way IMO
I thought the same thing when I heard it on 'You' as well but then I realized the characters were leftists and would of course use language like that. Seemed like good writing in fact. Also keep in mind the main character virtue signaling about being a 'Democrat' only for him to be a sociopathic murderer. Seem like that fits a liberal perfectly. See also the Byrd's in Ozarks
Anyone else old enough to remember when it was racist to "whitesplain" by offering an opinion or observation on matters of race not that long ago?

I saw it used in a few shows like "you", always so cringe and made me stop watching. People actually used it in real speech??
