Shocked that many in the BLM movement even were aware of the existence of Fathers Day.

I'm surprised some of these idiots know what a calendar is and can also count to 19

Don't assume I was talking about a racial group there. More of a comment on the people perpetuating this obviously astroturfed movement.

Up next: Father's Day gets cancelled because a lot of inner-city African-Americans grew up in one-parent households and therefore a day honoring fathers is RAYCISS!

That's all well and good. But then again: slavery.

I mean obviously "days" and the concept of time in general are racist and then as if that wasn't bad enough.... promoting biological patrilineage in current year? Yuck.

Yep. Excellent point.

The total pathetic irony of Democrat social policies which basically removed fathers from black lives.

Ha! People at work were uttering "Happy Juneteenth" more openly than "Merry Christmas!" One person actually remembered to say "Happy Father's Day."

I have absolutely no problem with celebrating Juneteenth, as I think it's a cool story and does have meaning. However, I take issue with the fact that people are acting like it's common knowledge and wasn't suddenly foist upon us out of nowhere. I just wish virtue signaling corporations or news media would preface all these announcements with "a previously regional holiday that has recently taken on national prominence in light of the BLM movement" or SOMETHING. One of the more bizarre episodes of my life.

The whole movement is about black segregation if you look at it. There must be 'black holidays" and what have you. I'm fine with people celebrating it but the idea that it should be a national holiday actually makes almost no sense when you break it down.

We don't generally celebrate the day the last POW came home we celebrate the end of the war.

I'm also not sure this would be as much of a problem if we still celebrated Lincoln's Birthday separately as it's own holiday. That used to serve as the de facto end of slavery holiday.
