I have a message for all Trump supporters: Thank You.
I'm a right leaning gay libertarian and have been treated terribly by so called 'woke' people for it. To date, I have never had a trump supporter belittle me for my skin color, sex, orientation, anything, even when we disagree on policies. You are truly some of the most freedom loving and nicest people I have ever talked politics with IRL.
As a result of Trump's support of freedom, rebuilding communities of all backgrounds, and not starting any new wars, I will be voting for Donald Trump for president. I have never voted for a person for office before, but between the crazy left and the freedom loving populous right, I must.

The major tool I've been using with my parents is letting them set up the event that they claim will never happen and then sending them the proof when it does. I did this recently with Minneapolis voting to disband their police force. My parents claimed it would never happen and then I send them the article of it happening.
Emotion is a powerful tool that most people govern their lives by, and I do my best to use it. Thank you for the advice.

In my experience, no amount of outside effort can ever forcibly wake people up from the propaganda. THEY have to take the first step OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL, or else the brain's self-defense mechanisms can prevent them from taking in all of the necessary information.
So long as they are still sane enough to not suffer from #TrumpDerangementSyndrome (the mental illness where they believe that the President is simultaneously such an Evil Genius and such an Incompetent Idiot that he's magically wrong on EVERY possible issue, causing their anger at him to override any sense of logic/reason), they can still be woken up, but do it SLOWLY and encourage THEM to both research the facts and verify your claims FOR THEMSELVES.
After they've taken the first step, THEN you can help them be red-pilled much more quickly/thoroughly.

We are already seeing the backlash in Gen Zoomer. 70% of Millennials support gay rights. 50% of Zoomers support gay rights, at least according to one study. Turns out the famous sci fi author Marion Zimmer Bradley was a prolific child rapist who pimped out her own daughter to a large group of pedos, and was part of the gay rights/sexual liberation movement as a front for legalizing pedophilia... going as far back as the 70s.
So again, I'm not going to lie. It is a possibility that tolerance as a whole might go by the wayside, and it's not up to me, it's up to the zeitgheist that will emerge once the backlash really takes hold. But people like you, open advocates against pedophilia and degeneracy, also have a very real shot of distinguishing yourselves to create a more positive outcome.

I grew up as a minority in my area. My high school was only 5% white and almost entirely Asian and Hispanic. but because of my skin color these collectivists can't comprehend that I grew up differently than their preconceived ideas.

On the other hand I have heard more anti gay, and racist comment from liberals that I know, than you would believe. I've been right leaning since I was about 17. They tried hard but I always argued policy instead of people saying dumb things. I was always more focused on what would work to fix things and be better for everyone. I had to argue about what the media lied about with a lot of people.

I left the Democrat party because I got tired of all the name calling, hatred and identity politics. They pretend to be the enlightened ones but what it really means is think like them on all things or be harassed into submission. To be honest I don't know much about Republicans pre-2016 because I only knew my MSDNC talking points, but since then almost everyone I've talked to has been quite reasonable and friendly even in the face of disagreement. I hope Republicans continue down that road because as the one reasonable party in a 2 party system, winning is inevitable.

I do not believe that LGBTQUERTY is ultimately good for society; however, I do believe in tolerance for the individuals who fall under the umbrella when they operate in good faith. And by tolerance, I mean it in its actual sense, not the celebration and promotion of it that is in vogue.
I agree that modern gay culture has problems for society. Especially with how much it is being pushed as a fashion trend. I don't agree that people being LGBT and living their lives in peace with a family and such is bad for society. The big problem I see with the culture is the emphases on hookups. They think they are building support groups but without a single long term personal bond it's shallow at best. I think that is why gay suicides are still very high.
Interesting points. I don't think you ever get rid of the hookup aspects, and I think a major point of the lifestyle is being a rebel. By being so accepting, it is actually pushing people to get more and more bizarre in terms of behavior.
The trend towards more stable arrangements such as marriage and family is certainly preferable. While I don't agree that it should be promoted or celebrated in society at large, giving existing gays a seat at the table is a worthy cause. I would always choose to attend a friend's wedding or baby shower, and in fact have.
However, we should be mindful not to encourage that behavior in future generations--I don't buy that it's innate--I think it's learned albeit subtly and not an active choice (like any fetish, things turn you on and by giving into them it makes them stronger). On a macro level is symptomatic of cultural decline. In fact, throughout history it seems part of parcel of a people being outbred and replaced as their civilization wanes.
I think the most ideal direction to try pushing gay acceptance is more towards "some people are". Some people are blind, but we don't encourage people to blind themselves (though I wouldn't be surprised if the left said that tomorrow). I agree that we shouldn't encourage people to be gay but we shouldn't demonize it. And as for what causes people to be gay, I have no idea.

Honestly, as I alluded I think it's like any fetish--you feed it, it takes hold. I have no idea what causes certain things to turn a person on, but I think that if you give into it it becomes stronger over time until a point of no return is reached. If a person is aroused by the same sex, and that is reinforced/encouraged, it makes sense that it becomes fused with your personality. I do think romantic love is necessarily based on sexual attraction, so naturally you would love a person who possesses those qualities.
I'm sure smarter people than me have written dissertations on this very subject--the problem is that it has become inherently politicized and, ergo, only 1 conclusion is acceptable.
My problem with the fetish idea is that fetishes can come and go, at least for me being attracted to men has never diminished since I first started noticing guys when I entered puberty. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a hormonal or prenatal development event that causes the ground work to be laid, though i am open to the idea of early childhood events causing it. I say it that way because I was never attracted to girls when I was entering puberty. When I tried "breaking it" and dated a girl for a year in high school, I still found myself attracted to men.
