I honestly don't know if this site should get monetized or not (would it corrupt the spirit of this site?), but I would like video hosting. It can be limited to 4MB compressed webms/mp4s to save on bandwidth but video hosting would skyrocket meme and OC potential.

The idea is to split it as its own thing so try and attract normies... what we need is a gaming.win section that people only talk about video games.... people will link to it for shit about games and whatever... and then the normies start to wander around.

I do get it. But I think the situation is different here. We aren’t a slice of a large community showing up for a variety of reasons. We’re a medium-sized community who come here for a single reason. I think that adding subs would dilute the energy rather than adding to it. Maaaybe something to do much later on as the site hits a critical mass or after the election, but I think it’s a counterproductive idea.
What if you did those three sections and then had an aggregate with the most popular ones from each section? Like an r/all, it could have the top 30 or 40 posts from each section including stickies from each one. That way if people just want to see the best of the best they can go there, if you want to strictly discuss politics or post memes or report news stories, you could do it in those dedicated sections.
