Now my family, we have a tradition of baking tendies and getting ready for the Trump rally in Tulsa. For every Juneteenth I can remember, we have done this to celebrate the Republican party fighting to end slavery. In fact, I can't say I recall ever celebrating this important holiday any differently!
How about you - what are your Juneteenth traditions?
dude . . . Juneteenth is not a bad thing and it's not made up. It commemorates the day (June 19, 1865) when official word finally reached Texas about the Emancipation Proclamation.
That's why it's been mostly a regional Texas thing, which explains why many have not heard of it until now (though I have because I went to school in Texas)
Seems like it could be a very positive way to remind people that everyone is free in the USA, unless they choose not to be and are enslaved by their own mindsets.
Today is Garfield's birthday so I will celebrate by watching the segment of today's THROUGH THE DECADES about it on the DVR!
