I learned about in High School in Texas but can understand that other states might have skipped it. We also probably spent a lot of extra time on the Alamo. Never did we celebrate it like a holiday though.

Fun fact my high school flag was the plain Rebel Flag. We were the Jack C. Hays Rebels.
