You guys got it too good. Here in Putnam county (NY) it took 8 months just to get a sportsman permit. It is not a carry just permission to own a pistol for the range or home. It's even worse in other counties. Westchester county you need to purchase a pistol but can't take it home until you get a permit. That can take a year.
