When I was younger I agreed with the free rights principles and I admired the don't tread on me gang, but I took them for granted. Why would I have to advocate for something we already had and always had? I became drawn to libertarianism because it became obvious the free market without government interference was a much better idea than Keynesianism.

How things have changed. I now realize what holding these principles of freedom and equal rights means. They can be taken away in a second if you're not careful. The US is under attack from Marxists and the power hungry political class. This movement wants unequal rights for people under the law based on their skin color, which would be the destruction of western civilization as we know it. You can't tell the political class that they have to follow equal rights if its own citizens don't. Just about the entire history of civilization has been about fighting for equality and freedom and these people want to take it away.

I am proud to be a libertarian more than ever before and I now realized why back then so many of my peers built their ideology around freedom and not just what works better in the economy.

Western Civilization only works with rational individuals which can only be achieved when people think for themselves (individualism).

Tribal politics don't make sense because people in large groups are dumb and easily fall into cult like atmosphere. Tribal politics ensure that they will never believe the precieved enemy (no matter how truthful) and always believe the leader (no matter how retarded).

Just look up Rwanda genocide, Spanish Civil war, Communist revolutions in Russia and China.
