Twitter magnifies people's voices. So 1000 people hate something and dog pile a business or a corporation on Twitter, it feels like those 1000 represent 100,000. Especially for people that remember times before social media, where if someone wrote a letter to complain there probably were 100 people that agreed with that person that just didn't want to take the effort to write a letter.
Businesses and people still have yet to move beyond that mindset.
Basically anything is legal for the left, from violating employment laws, hate speech, murdering cops, all the way up to treason. Everything is illegal for the right, from telling the truth, having relatives, all the way up to your right to not be dragged out of a car and beaten to death or to defend yourself against a mob.

From this side, it feels like it's a self fulfilling cycle of Cancel Culture, with the data scientist's dashboard ending up on some PowerPoint to the sales kids to backup the "right choice" and no one asking why someone's tweet has such a weight
