From what I understand it's not tracking anything...yet. Right now you have to download a separate app to do the contact tracing (at least on Android); but built in contact tracing is coming soon.

The most annoying part is that I wasn't even given a choice to update like every other time. It just did it without asking. I haven't installed a custom rom in a few years. I'll be looking into that ASAP.
