Cisco just donated $5M to BLM. Cisco imports engineers from their India offices to their US offices. They pay the experienced engineer from India a mid-level US salary. This is like an Indian hitting the lottery. They have a red carpet H1-B to the US, a full-time good paying job, and more freedom and opportunity in the US than they would have ever had in India(not to mention the house, property, cars, shopping).
Cisco then proceeds to have a "reduction in force." They fire all of their most tenured and experienced engineers who are at the higher end of the salary scale. That provides Cisco with a big cost savings on salaries.
This is for the remaining aspects of Cisco that haven't already been shut down and moved to Mexico or another foreign country. Or sometimes they'll hire back the people they "reduced in force" as contractors. It's disgusting to see what Cisco has done to their US employees. u/PepesUnite knows about this too!!
