Hate? Hardly. Contrarily, you nailed it. And I can attest to this; being one of whom you speak. The majority of my familial generation doesn't even speak Spanish. Self included.

We're fucking Americans.

BMAO last night dinner was enchiladas with an egg/extra onion, arroz con pollo, beans. Prick me and I bleed red chile! My family has a rather crass saying - if it ain't gonna burn on the way out, it ain't worth eating (I . . . I . . . didn't reply sooner because I've been in the bathroom since - Burning My Ass Off).

We grew up having chile eating contests; first one to reach for the milk in tears was shamed and laughed out of the room. Dessert on Sundays after church consisted of Mom's homemade apple crumble pie, apples fresh from the tree out back.

We were also taught to regard the American flag with the utmost respect. The flag from my Grandfather's coffin (World War ll) was kept folded atop the fireplace mantle - never touch that flag, never play with that flag, and above all else, NEVER DROP that flag, lest it be burned.

Both Grandfather's World War ll. Father + countless uncles Vietnam vets. My Mother's family, dirt-ass-poor COTTON PICKERS, haled from southern TX, near entirety of their huge lot putting themselves through college, many obtaining PhDs. God, Flag, Family.
Doesn't get more fucking American than that.

The Hispanic community does not fuck around in New Mexico - I honestly cannot ascertain WTF Antifa & BLM are thinking they'll gain - oh wait, they are incapable of thought. Dare I say Albuquerque = 1st shot fired? Don't even get me started on the fact they labeled Baca as a White Supremacist . . .

Gen X, representing SW.
