Yeah - his comment sounds like more "Nazis are the real socialists" shaky bridge-making...

The EU and UN are ComIntern, nothing more.

It's a matter of much debate, between those who've gotten dirty with the actual literature and those who've watched a lot of History Channel.

Hitler and Mussolini are the only socialist tyrants that the left failed to paint as heroes

And why was that? Be honest, or read 200 Years Together first.

I'm not apologizing for, nor identify with NatSoc, but I always cite the dichotomy for this reason.

Well, they were real socialists. Funnily enough, days prior to Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union, Goebbels wrote in his private diary that the Nazis were going to install real socialism (Der echte Sozialismus) in Russia.

And Hitler once wrote that without the focus on race, national socialism would do nothing but compete with Marxism on its own ground.

This video by TIK History is probably the most comprehensive breakdown of the NSDAP's socialism. As you can imagine it triggered quite a few socialists. It's 5 hours long but well worth it.
