He's the most "real" president we've had in a long time. These 'rallies' are as much for him as they are for votes - I think he genuinely enjoys being able to kick back and just be a normal person directly to his supporters.
Something that I always remember about him comes from one of his first interviews as GEOTUS. He was asked what he misses most about being a private citizen and he said he misses driving! He said he use to drive Barron to school and drive around Manhattan. Such a genuine thing, all other politicians have had private drivers for decades while Trump would rather drive himself.

Remember when there was a genuine movement afoot to amend the Constitution specifically so that a foreigner like Arnold could run for President? That would have cleared the way for Barack Obama too, at a time when he was an unknown waiting in the wings.
