I live in the area, and absolutely consider it a victory. It's easy to get discouraged when we were used to seeing sold out stadiums pre-kung flu, but there were still a ton of us, even with all the warnings ahead of time. The excitement and enthusiasm that was there was tremendous, and exactly what was needed!
