That arena should’ve been packed and it wasn’t. The campaign needs to look into it and prevent it in the future. Plain and simple, we got played or we cowered from the left. The optics of empty seats bothered me and if it bugged me, then it did others.
That's all it is though, optics. Being bugged is what fake news wants you to feel. These numbers are great considering all the factors:
Just coming out of a long lockdown that decimated the economy (technically still in the lockdown).
Protesters outside threatening Trump supporters after violent riots sweeped the nation.
In order to try to limit the potential for attacks/riots, roads were blocked off and people were corralled for a long ways away from the rally, making it difficult to get to the rally. Parking for the rally was several blocks from the venue, and split between two different parking garages.
I'd imagine that a good amount of people who were going to show up, decided not to at the last minute once they saw all the protesters and blocked off areas. And who could blame them after violent riots just happened. They don't want their cars smashed up. They don't want to be bum rushed by rioters. That doesn't change who they'll be voting for.
On top of that, Hotels in Tulsa had no rooms available. Whether that's because they were actually at capacity, or it was limited on purpose to try to limit the amount of people who showed up, is anyone's guess.
