Be careful of where you put your off hand if not using a VFG, because the back of the pump rail is a nasty pinch zone that will ruin your week, and make sure you rack the action ALL THE WAY to the rear with force or the shell retainer clips won't drop a fresh round onto the lifter arms.
You absolutely cannot treat that gun gently when it comes to racking rounds through it. Run it like Doomguy.
I’d also suggest a foregrip/handstop. I would want to eliminate any chance of shooting my hand off especially considering how hard you need to chuck it.
I am thinking about buying the Fostech Origin 12 shotgun. After having watched the riots, I want something that can neutralize large crowds in no time if I get attacked.
Lol 223/556 is going for 30-45 cents a round...if it’s in stock!
762 steel case at 24 cents a round. 9mm is a little easier to find. It’s an expensive graveyard out there.
There's a steel bar that connects to the magazine shell retainers, which release the next shell for the bolt to pick up when you rack the action open. You just have to make sure to very deliberately bottom out the pump when you rack it. No being gentle.
I have the same gun and love it. Get a front grip for it for some extra control and easier racking. I prefer using mini shells in mine, I think you get 11+11+1 in total. Enjoy!
In a similar vein, I picked up this MKA 1923 after using the KSG recently. The idea of the short, compact shotgun piqued my interest. https://m.imgur.com/KR9Iu2a
Its still an 18 inch barrel, just the action is set back at your shoulder. Keltec makes their guns beefy, so there is a decent distribution of weight front to back. Kick is the same as any other shotgun, but it seems to me, compared to my 1300 defender, there is less muzzle rise to contend with.
Running this through tactical drills at the range shows the shorter total package makes for ease of sweeping and clearing your house. That is its greatest draw, behind the 14+1 2 3/4 inch shells, or 23 minishells, and I believe you can shoot magnum loads out of it, but I bet it would hurt like hell, just like in any other shotty without a recoil compensation system.
Get an angled foregrip, a nice red dot, and down the road a choke adapter and you can mitigate a little more of the muzzle rise or recoil, depending on how you set up with a brake, compensator, or standoff.
If stock photos are to go by, your Winchester 1300 Defender has a traditional stock which places the recoil above the point of interaction with your shoulder. Basically, like handguns if the force generation is above your point of control it creates a lever effect. Straight, in-line stocks like the AR-15 inherently help with recoil control. That’s why the Keltec has less muzzle rise if anything.

"run it like doomguy" 😂 God bless you pede, awesome advice

You shouldn't have any trouble at all finding 12 ga right now.
Still stands- hit the web; I've found plenty of buck shot lately. I do probably need more slugs, so thanks for reminding me :)
Nah forget about them again.

Wow. This is a beautiful gun.

That's why I started reloading. I can make match grade ammo for less than that.
Yeah, lots of options I just happened to be on ammo depot also when I saw this post.
Im terrible with that gun in COD. How's it irl?
it's akward and jammy i've heard but lots of fun, personally I would 590a1 20 inch.

That particular mistake is colloquially known as short shuckin’.
I love it but (1) hell of a kick. I got an aftermarket pad. and (2) you have to slam that slide when reloading.
Crusade Approved...
Hmmmmm, I’ve been in the market for a shotgun, I may have to check this model out.

Great gun. You may want look into getting an additional pad - has quite a kick with buckshot.

Is that a Nintendo switch case?
This thing shoots straight into the future!
Recoil on this sucks. But it’s a pretty good home defense weapon. A laser is a good investment for it.
Seen this before but how is it any worse than any other pump shotgun? IIRC it’s not any lighter than any other pump.
I thought it was worse. But that’s also just my opinion. The short barrel means you’re going to have to fight to get that second shot on target.
Hmm, if it weighs average but is shorter that just means you have less of a lever effect to help fight the recoil.

Ksg uhhhhhnnnnnnhhhhhh. I just wish they’d make one with an automatic tube mag switcher when you run one dry.
GOOD START ON SUNDAY GUNDAY THO
Nice!. I'm looking to get a DP-12 myself but I also love the Kel-Tec KSG.
Tavor mag changes are drop free, and plug a new one in on mine. Never had a problem even running a full chest rig.
