TDW is using Goolag's reCaptcha for user registrations, which is handing some blue-haired genderdisoriented lunatic in Silly Con Valley effectively the full database of TDW's user signups.
As I discovered a few minutes ago, there is an effective alternative to this, privacy by design, called hCaptcha. Most convincing aspect is that the founder/CEO of Brave is on their board, so this lends them serious credibility IMHO.
Also, just read their arguments why them and not the popular alternative and you will understand :)
On the super plus side: TDW can earn rewards the machine learning companies are paying for the photo identification the users are doing when selecting those images. No clue how much that could be respectively the monetary worth.
sidenote: I'm in no way associated with them. My only motivation here is to break free from the Goolag, as we should all aspire as much as possible.
We've looked at it previously, but the fact that they pay for solves rules it out.
We're not opening ourselves up to accusations of monetization.
