And it definitely doesn't just apply to black people.

Whitey here. Was born into your average middle class small town family. Father ghosted when I was 8. Had 2 other siblings. Within 2 years we were living in the projects and on welfare. Went to a majority black public school and most of the black kids had more than I did.

The reason I mention this is because when debating leftists there is a strange idea they have that poverty causes single motherhood. I mean WTF ???

I’ve seen it first hand in New Orleans.

I worked in South Louisiana for almost 20 years. Home office was in Metairie. I loved the swamp/cajun areas like Terrebonne, lafourche, and St. Mary's Parish. . I grew to hate New Orleans. I always ended up being the tour guide when family came from out of state for Mardi Gras.
