I graduated from a school like this. It is bad. We had shootings and even all out riots. It was bad and the problem was far left admin and faculty. They were a bunch of Karen's. Single, cat loving crazy hippies. They did not know how to handle us. We dreaded teachers that were black christian conservatives females. No joke! We had 2 and they would pop us in the face. It would shut us up and get our attention. We had former Vietnam service men teaching history as well. These guys taught us about discipline and sportsmanship. They are really the only reason why I finished high school and played college sports. I would have dropped out if it weren't for 3 good teachers.
Many of us didn't have fathers. We were raised by mons or relatives. If inner city schools promoted family, it would great. However, male influence and strong christian women do the job. They influence us and stay in touch. I wished the military had some teacher program for inner cities.
There’s a reason why the news only covers shootings in predominantly white schools, because it’s rare. This type of violence has been happening on a daily basis in inner city black schools for a long time.
