The war has been decided a long time ago. And the constitution is the reason Americans are guaranteed freedom of expression. Carry on if it is not against the law. Live and let live. To each his own. I don't see any issues. Could be different if the Battle Flag was the actual Flag of the Confederacy and the intent was to re-fight the war, or re-institute slavery and other things lost during the war settlement . It is clearly not. To rally around peacefully a common symbol unifying a group of people is very American. To destroy those peoples symbols or exclude those symbols because a person don't like them is another level which is not supportive of the constitutions guarantees. Pro-constitutionalist here even if I don't like the symbol of expression.

The Southern Battle Flag is representative of a lot of different things to the people that embrace it. Many of those things are positive. Not just AGAINST the constitution. The right of a State to succeed the Union of States just because they want to has been decided. You can't.

The American Civil War was a huge tragedy. I don't think we should ever forget the lessons learned, or the conclusions drawn from it. In effect, it solidified the Constitution, and our Union. The losers and the winners should remember and have the right to express their point of view about the situation. Hiding all the history from view is a mistake. Understanding like U/Josh was seeking is the beginning of wisdom and unity.
