While she is known, she’s known around the country. If you take one person out of every town in the country, that maybe equal millions of people who like her, but can she win an election like that? Especially a primary where people don’t tend to show up.

AOC has a huge organization behind her with the DSA, she is the poster child for the far-left also and gets donations country wide. Her district also has a larger than average number of far-leftist types that care more about ideology than if AOC is good for their district.
If AOC loses it will be funny, however "the squad" also reminds regular Americans of what the Democrats represent. If she wins, she'll get even more extreme and discredit the Dems even more.
