Everyone in NY pretty much hates DeBlasio, this seems a likely path if she’s ousted from her house seat. And likely that will either turn into a Senate Run, or prepare her for a presidential run under the whole “Ive ran one of the biggest cities in the US.” Later down the line.
I mean obviously not everyone, but he has this strange thing about him where his policies mostly aren’t the issue for residents, people don’t like him as a person. Like for instance during the lockdown he was spotted with a police escort at a gym 11 miles away from his home. A while back it was revealed he taking donations from people and then giving favors, lots of conflict of interest but no charges filed. There was also this instance many years back where the NYPD blamed him for anti cop messaging that led to some police shootings. When DeBlasio visited the cops in the hospital, all of the NYPD in the building turned their backs to him as he walked through the halls. He is definatley not liked well enough to not be vulnerable to a contender with a big profile.
I used to frequent NYC on business, so I’ve spent a good amount of time there, but that was a few years ago. He also didn’t get a lot of love for his handling of some of the 2nd Ave line project either. Especially from East siders that Pretty much only had the overcrowded 6 for uptown/downtown trips. It can be very unpleasant during rush hours.

I mean sounds good in a vacuum to basically anyone, right? People don't follow the headlines on a constant basis so polling and "public opinion" is going to have a lag time.
