Yeah I don’t think sniping opponents is a good look. If you want a fight, wear your KAG hat and protect the monuments.

Honestly, there needs to be some protests to protect the monuments. I've seen some places actually set up their own protest lines protecting the monuments but it's hard to do when the statue themselves are in such blue areas.

Look how well that went in Albuquerque. And the thing still came down.

I would love to have an actual organized protest to go to. I just don't know what to suggest that isn't going to get someone killed.

I got here too late to see what was previously written, but if it was about shooting people attacking statues, well, I've got some sympathy for that point of view by now.

Just to be clear, I'm not advocating for shooting anyone.

But there are millions of things in need of protection, and not enough of us to go around. And we need to be successful everywhere, every time. This puts a huge asymmetry on the costs between attack and defense. I haven't thought up any good ways to balance those costs. I have, however, thought of several bad ways to do it, including, I assume, something like what was deleted here.

A similar problem pops up with border jumping. The attackers in that situation also have many advantages, plus the ability to inflict effectively unlimited costs on the defender. The death penalty for second offenses, enforced by tattoo or DNA sample, would balance out the costs on the southern border. But of course, that isn't a good idea either.
