Trump played him like a fiddle. He would use Bolton’s insane war mongering to bring the other side to the table until a negotiation was made and then Bolton would be pissed he didn’t get his war. Trump did this a couple times with North Korea, China, and Iran. Bolton still doesn’t get he was being used as leverage.

It sounds really dumb, but its technically a 900% return.
Return= ((End-Beginning)/Beginning) x 100
=((1000-100)/100) x 100
=((900)/100) x 100
=(9) x 100
=900%
