Well, in the hobby these guys are known as Orange Bitey Things (originally it stood for Orange Baboon Tarantula).

It'll have a lovely life with guaranteed food and water and no natural predators.

Tarantulas actually make pretty good captives because they generally prefer confined spaces. It makes them feel secure because of their poor eyesight. Generally they don't stray far from their burrows, unless they're a sexually mature male trying to breed before dying.

I have a tremendous soft spot for creatures that are misunderstood and therefore hated. That's why I keep a lot of the animals I do. They get a bad rap, and I enjoy tell people what makes them wonderful. Kind of like how we spend our energy here correcting fake news about conservatives.
