People want information. I bet most of those stories are just a single paragraph and written by AI algorithms from data harvested from CDC and other similar websites.
I tentatively agree. The sheer number of reports over the last three/four months could reasonably result in every number being covered. The only way to get to the bottom of this would be a hugely in depth examination and comparison study, which frankly nobody has the time or money or inclination to do. Much easier to get a short term dopamine outrage hit and move on to the next.
Critical thinking is in ever shorter and shorter supply.
I'd really like someone more skilled at math and statistics to tell me what the odds are in plugging in 50 or 100 random numbers and getting hits each and every time.
This happens on all search engines because the articles are real.
There are many hundreds of "zones" (cities, states, countries etc) for a period of 3-4 months. It's logical to have some article for almost every 3 digit number.
My fear is not that we get a real second wave, I don't think we will, but that the media combined with stores closing shop (Apple closed stores in red states last week) will succeed in causing a market dip by basically faking a second wave as to the economy.
So what I'm personally watching for this week is if any other large companies close up their shops too.
I understand the concern. I think they are running out of ways to increase the numbers. They got widely criticized for killing all the nursing home patients by throwing positive patients in with them, which represents a significant fraction of the mortality rate. They are now fixated on new case numbers and not hospitalizations. When they do mention them, they only say percent because it sounds bigger when you start with almost nothing
Yeah, I agree with that. I'm just worried there will be a "snowball effect" if more stores start closing. In any case, I'm guessing that around the 4th of July will be when it really picks up. Lots of people are going to go outside, see the fireworks, eat hotdogs and by then perhaps decide that they're over this second wave thing.
Look for 2 weeks after these recent protests instead, haha. At this point, it might actually be more harmful to not get a few cases in the hospitals. A lot of them are close to bankruptcy because the states banned elective procedures, and the hospitals blew all their money prepping for what didn't happen. If you think you can time the market, all the more power to you.
Guys, it seems reasonable to assume that out of some 200 countries each with different states, counties, towns and regions being reported on, daily for >120 days, these numbers were actually used.
So, not only is the CCP virus woke for not attacking rioters, looters, rapists and vandals, it also has OCD, making sure every three-digit number is covered. I guess they're right; We're still learning more about this virus every day.
I mean... it’s a big world... there are more than 900 cities, state, and countries and they’re pretty much all publishing statistics every day over the past 3 months... No surprise there, it’s just Google finding sources that match your search term. What other things with “new cases” are people looking for information about? There are lots of real cases of google manipulating information but this isn’t one of them IMO.
You think Google just makes up these websites? Press has been banging on about coronavirus every day for months. Of course there are going to be reports from somewhere with pretty much any number.
You can do this with lots of things. For instance type in some two digit number and “murders”. Most of the results will be from Chicago. 73 murders returns the zebra killings, which the Left probably wants to see replicated.
Holy fuck!! 🤯. Either you have some David Copperfield power, or this is some corporate globalist conspiracy bullshit! I’m older than 8, so it’s the latter.
Tried 10 times... sure as shit, every one of them came up with a result.
No shit. Me too!
same
I tried "001 new cases" and found Kate Spade phone cases.
I am also a programmer, so I was confident it wouldn't find it
edit
Third link was Kung Flu
Every number I tried came up with the exact number in the title of the articles.
Same here. Just tried it.
BS every result was the exact number I typed.
It is indeed striking. It shows the sheer volume of fear porn the media is pushing
Yeah, Google didn't create all the stories. The fake news did that.
People want information. I bet most of those stories are just a single paragraph and written by AI algorithms from data harvested from CDC and other similar websites.

All the results I saw were from the US, and I tried a BUNCH of numbers.
It's incredibly striking lol
It even works with the number 000.
Finally found one that doesn't work. 717.
Nope. Kuwait announces 717 new cases
Confirmed
But Kuwait had 887 an hour ago as per my search.

That’s a huge volume of lying ass articles.
It's not really that obvious why each and every number generates a different page. I don't think any country reported on each single increment.
username checks
Google image search "White Family" if you want to see lies.
Interesting. When I clicked on some of those links I got a 404 not found.
Imagine how difficult it is to be a huge Samsonite fan searching for news on their latest luggage models.
Or iPhone case manufacturers.
Amazing. I'm almost fully out of the stock market right now because I think this week, maybe into next week is their last chance for muh second wave.
Hospitals aren't seeing shit for numbers. I'm staying in.

The second wave was what we saw in March/April. First wave hit last year and nobody noticed.
I'm trying to decide what to do myself.
Guys, it seems reasonable to assume that out of some 200 countries each with different states, counties, towns and regions being reported on, daily for >120 days, these numbers were actually used.
Yet some of the sites aren't real lol
Fake news often deletes or changes stories.
While I think this is pathetic of them to do, it can explain a lot. We need to archive everything.
Re the search results we need further analysis.
I think the take away is that it was so over reported that every single number came up.
Huh, that's cool
I've been trying for 5 mins straight, 20 or so times, and it is 100% legit.
Works with 537 shows Iowa and New Delhi. Great work pede
Germany now
Duck Duck Go does it too.
I have a screen recording of this in case anyone wants it. I don't want to put it on YT so I'll try to make a free account somewhere.
Holy fuckery!
That shit's crazy, though I do understand these numbers come from across the globe.
Oh wow! I just did this at random with five numbers and all of them came up with media articles with that number being used.
spell it gangsta.
Two can play this game: Enter any two-digit number and "Chicago murders."
I posted this same thing several hours before this one. Glad to see it getting more attention. Fuck google
Lol
Fear porn being pushed worldwide at unimaginable levels holy fuck
So, not only is the CCP virus woke for not attacking rioters, looters, rapists and vandals, it also has OCD, making sure every three-digit number is covered. I guess they're right; We're still learning more about this virus every day.
I did over 13,000 and it worked
What the actual fuck
Even Fox this morning was taking about how BEIJING (pop. 21.5M) had 8 new cases, ‘a slight downtick from 11, but still worrisome.’ 8.
I mean... it’s a big world... there are more than 900 cities, state, and countries and they’re pretty much all publishing statistics every day over the past 3 months... Holy shit
Fucking creepy as hell man.
Holy shit
Works with 4 & 6 digit numbers too
This needs to be stickied
Holy. Crap. I mean, i dunno why i was surprised it worked...
Funny and sad at the same time.
You think Google just makes up these websites? Press has been banging on about coronavirus every day for months. Of course there are going to be reports from somewhere with pretty much any number.
If you type in “911” nothing comes up about the US September 9/11 tragedy either.
Pick any random ten of the results. How many are broken links? How many 404 errors? That’s the real story here.
I went as far as 2, 3, and 4 digit numbers and still got hits. I did it about 15 times.
UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE. I'm doing a screen record and posting everywhere.
You can do this with lots of things. For instance type in some two digit number and “murders”. Most of the results will be from Chicago. 73 murders returns the zebra killings, which the Left probably wants to see replicated.
That is rad, man.
HOLY SHIT
