Al Gore's dad was one of them. And since it is 2020, this is now Al Gore's fault.

He’s feeling the heat.

It’s okay, I’ll see myself out, thanks.

My poor wife was indoctrinated so bad about it. It's disgusting the lies the spew.

The thing I liked is Al Gore was roundly mocked and derided, quite rightfully, at the time. South Park in particular was savage.

Hey, you can't do that, I was Almost Barely President!

These days half the world is seriously entertaining the indoctrinated ramblings of an autistic teenage girl. A sad decline in intellectual rigour.

No no you have that all wrong, that was the republicans just before they decided to randomly swap party names with the democrats. Why would they do this you ask? What sense does it make that two political parties swapped names? Shut the fuck up racist!

Basically if they currently consider him s good guy, he's a Democrat. Otherwise, party switch.

IAdeplorable 17 points ago +17 / -0

I hear about this ridiculous “party switch“ all too often from “woke” liberals. Do you know any good links debunking this absurdity that I can use as solid source?

bjernard 23 points ago +23 / -0

This one is pretty good. https://youtu.be/UiprVX4os2Y

I find the best debate for it is to ask simple questions. 'So who decided they'd switch? Who made the phone calls to all the Democrats and said, hey we're Republicans now so we can be racist still?'

You know. Stuff like that. Have them explain the actual process cause it doesn't exist.

sgt_richard 15 points ago +15 / -0

The question I ask is, if there was such a party switch then how did they convince the ENTIRE PUBLIC to switch their party?! Sent a fucking letter and say ok now we're republicans and your democrats?! The mental gymnastics to even believe that is full fucking retard.

edit: and they NEVER have an answer. It just falls back to the ad hominem attack as usual.

Or just ask them what year it happened in.

Not my joke, but "it causes those dumb motherfuckers to start speaking Swahili."

2
ApprenticeParty 2 points ago +2 / -0

Or why in 1988 governor Clinton dedicated part of the Arkansas flag to the confederacy?

2
IAdeplorable 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks for the link. That makes sense, ask simple questions and when they fumble and can’t answer then I will let that speak for itself. Just so crazy how they can believe the switch. It’s an amazing con job by the Democrats.

Have you heard that planned parenthood was founded by democratic racists as a way to control the black population? Sounds so ridiculous conspiracy type when I say it but it’s true nevertheless.

I point out that Al Gore Sr was a Democrat when he filibustered the Civil Rights act and was a Democrat until the day he died in 1998. When did the parties switch again?

28
davidmode 28 points ago +28 / -0

everyone knows the parties switched!

conveniently right after the civil war... and then conveniently again after the civil rights act!

20
runeu 20 points ago +20 / -0

We need to abolish or at least rename the Democratic party, because every time I see the name I am reminded of how they fought to preserve slavery and fought against the Civil Rights Act. You can't say "it no longer stands for that," the same way you can't say the Confederate battle flag no longer does.

ikuyas 19 points ago +19 / -0

"Muh, party switched"  Even if that's ture (several times), the party switched in 2016. So, demcrats are racist.

4
Wenger 4 points ago +5 / -1

At what point was this switch?

6
sgt_richard 6 points ago +6 / -0

Depends. They constantly move the goal post to fit their narrative.

I can't name a single time when Democrats didn't pit one race against another.

TBF the Civil Rights Act was a disaster for this country. It poured gasoline on the victimhood mentality.

TheMadManDidItAgain 8 points ago +8 / -0

Thanks Robert Byrd, you are one of their mentors. And thank you for being a Grand Keegle of the KKK. And thanks for pushing segregation. Sincerely, every fucking member of the democrats.

57 days is what I could find on record, not 75.

4
Reclaimer69 4 points ago +4 / -0

Info on this, in general, is probably spotty. I copied this straight from Wikipedia.

One of the most notable filibusters of the 1960s occurred when Southern Democrats attempted to block the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by filibustering for 75 hours, including a 14-hour and 13 minute address by Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia. The filibuster failed when the Senate invoked cloture for only the second time since 1927.[26]

They say hours not days, so who knows. We need a pede who was there, and remembers, to chime in.

So what? What have we gained by making everyone besides straight white men a “protected class” who are permanently immune from being fired from their jobs?

5
CorrectTheReeeecord 5 points ago +5 / -0

Most of it should go away, to be honest. Affirmative action and diversity hire (the only forms of tangible and provable institutional racism) is because of this act.

Uber Eats is now making preferential (monetized) treatment towards businesses based on color of the skin. THAT IS RACISM

coyote_777 3 points ago +3 / -0

There was never a party switch. When Republicans started to regularly win, all the Democrats in the south, with their post civil war beliefs and segregation policies, they were all dead. Except for like Strom Thurmond. The political party never changed.

And just 30 years later, Democrats had successfully convinced the nation that Republicans were the party of racism and that Democrats were the party of equality and tolerance. Incredible.

OK, since I lived thru this era-- let me drop 'the bomb' on this subject. Has it been the Great and Glorious Federal Program it was hailed to be? But very few 'regular people' wanted this. And this Federal Program gave us Obama, twice
