Chinese tends to slur together a bit so it's a bit hard to follow even with subs.

Japanese doesn't have that problem, though I might be a bit biased since I watch anime (not a weeb though), it's also much easier on the ears and not as grating as Chinese can be.

Asshoe countries have asshoe languages, China is an asshoe country, thus it has an asshoe language.

Japanese has longer words too... not as staccato as Chinese, imo. But also, not as barking and guttural as German, with their ridiculously long words.

Maybe fewer hard consonants?
