CEO says he's hearing that 40 story buildings will be only 20% occupied by October.

Seattle just imploded its economy in a matter of weeks.

Seattle, out Detroiting Detroit.

And at 10x the speed! Detroit was just a result of the US refusing to stay competitive in manufacturing (hence the rust belt as plants and mills moved across borders), which itself was only exacerbated by local leaders not allowing the area to be competitive. But Seattle is on a whole new level with it.

Detroit race riots were a thing.

Like, a big huge thing.

And they definitely contributed to the decline.

Definitely, the riots were a big deal in Detroit, but Seattle apparently wants to set a new precedent.

Black leadership and their ignorant masses have been fucking themselves going on a century. The Twelfth Street Riot started when police raided an illegal bar. An in your face flouting of law by the black owners and patrons which regular people would never try to get away with, but in their minds was nothing short of extreme oppression by whitey and an excuse to burn down the city because again somehow in their minds they dindunothin. Did whites burn down cities when speakeasy's were raided, busted and destroyed? No. They understood that what they were doing was illegal and accepted the consequences like any sane person would.

The Unions up there were a big part of Detroit failing too.

How much of this is the CHAZ and riot events though? Can't it mostly be COVID and work from home?

Well he's making that quote in the context of leaving Seattle because of the unrest. So I think it's pretty clear what he thinks the cause is.

Seattle's been going down the drain fast for the last few administrations. Amazon's also moving out.

When you realize Amazon was actually right the whole time to not have their new headquarters in NYC with AOC bitching at them... seems like hindsight is 2020...

Good point. In theory, businesses are phasing in, even though some plan to work at home through THE END OF THE YEAR! Crazy! On the other hand, it shouldn't be getting emptier because of that. It should be as empty as it will get, I think.

The south downtown area has been bleeding out businesses ever since the homeless took it over. I'm talking about medium to large firms whose leases ended and they move a bit further north.

I’m listening. What’s the play?

well, youll need a good amount of initial unless youve got some friends in high places. a good thing about commercial mla is the fact that youre essentially off the hook for almost all costs- the business pays for them. you just need to be a good negotiator and collect 4-6 months up front from every client.

no one in their right mind would live in the city proper after seeing their gov, mayor, and police chief lie down and roll over to the mob. And they were already trying their best to destroy it before that by letting hordes of mentally ill homeless drug addicts set up camps wherever they wanted.

It's a damn shame because Seattle was a very beautiful city surrounded by spectacular landscape. The landscape is still there, but the city is lost to the druggies and the mobs. How many conventions and visitors do they think they can pull in now - much less actual resident? No shortage of homeless addicts and rioting, looting mobs, though.
