NASCAR apparently thought the bad publicity could be turned around by virtue signaling and they would be heroes. Then the masses would flock to the races and it would be transformed into a diverse entertainment utopia.

The only conclusion here now is that any sort of pull down rope is racist, and this will be applied retroactively and appropriate punishment meted out to any operators of said racist ropes.

I think some genuine reactive idiot saw it and thought it was brand new and thought somebody had walked by there and tied it to send as a message without even doing 2 minutes of research or maybe asking around the staff there where someone would have certainly said they've seen it like that for years....
for reference we used to do this shit all the time when I worked at a pipe supply shop when I was younger... it was literally just a joke and not only that but tying a proper noose is actually quite the skill and looks really nice when it's done and actually has nothing to fucking do with hanging oneself and way more to do with shipping and sailing.....
