My state's COVID tracker shows hospitalization only falling, so who cares if there's more cases, if it's not sending anyone to the hospital.

True! Also, now that people are fed up and going back to normal, many places are requiring people to get tested. More tests = more positives.
My take is SARS-2 has been in the US since September 2019, so FakeNews can always find "more cases". The death rate has been consistent with a bad flu and even DeBlasio couldn't kill enough seniors (to help his budget out) to change it.
My take:
Deaths which were not COVID were classified as COVID for $$$.
Ventilators were the wrong treatment which basically killed people, so the spike in deaths should be classified as "Hospital-related Deaths" instead of COVID.
Liberal governors in NY, NJ, PA, MI and others forced COVID patients into nursing homes exposing the most vulnerable populations.
Lockdowns/shutdowns and ventilators were deliberate mis-information from China; China knew before March 2020 that none of those things work.
Therefore, I think the COVID deaths are inflated about 50%, and a large percentage of the rest were avoidable if we had protected nursing homes.
