Islam is about force with some poetry and sensuality thrown in, but fatalism over all, a dislike of this world and a preference for paradise, which is only reached through obedience, the abject kind. There is a reason the posture of prayer in Islam is what it is.
Coercion is the beginning and the end and there is only obedience, complete obedience.
Islam is not about trusting anybody or anything. That is why they marry first cousins so often, they don't trust anybody else. The rate of first cousin marrying varies from community to community, but it goes on. First cousin marrying is legal in the Bible but has not been practiced widely outside of Islam.
Its men are carefully molded from childhood. You can read about these things, but you are thinking another way completely.

It is obedience that flows out of pessimism.

As for China, they also like enforced unity, because the alternative, for them, is worse. Lots of obedience there too. But not as much pessimism as Islam.
