My friend one time had a psx game we couldn’t get to work at all. It was scratched all to shit and wouldn’t read anymore. One day he got pissed at it threw it in a sink threw cologne, dishwashing soap, shaving cream...spit on it, and some other shit I don’t even remember. Basically everything he could do to permanently fuck it up. Rinsed it off threw it in the PlayStation and it worked I shit you not. We called it the cleansing, did it on several games.
Disclaimer - would not recommend doing this but it worked for several games for whatever weird fucking reason.
Blowing carbon dioxide and spittle on the exposed circuitry of the cartridge always fixes it.
Kid repair logic.
hehe
I used a pencil eraser myself
I still blow on my cartridges to this day. That shit works.
Worked for me.
Funny story I just want to share.

You could fill small scratches in cds with fluoride, like you find in dinne toothpastes
Makes sense because toothpaste was one of the things he also threw on there.
Q-tip and rubbing alcohol actually works on the old oxidized copper contact
