Saying "Black lives matter" is being used as some weird cult initiation. It almost reminds me of people saying the shahada in Islam. Saying it, especially after being told to say it, gives these people some weird sense of power over whoever they can get to say it.

Notice, you cannot say "of coarse black lives matter because all lives matter", or "Yes, I care about the lives of black people". It has to be the exact wording "Black live matter". Swalwell says that at the start of this clip.

It's not about having a difficult conversation about race. It's about controlling thought.
