This is probably very instightful. I started detecting a huge amount of anti-Americanism on the internet around the mid to late mid 2000s, maybe a couple of years after YouTube got rolling.

Some of this is just due to the fact that tech-backwards Europe finally got online. Did you know that in 2000, only around 30% of those in the UK were online? Was close to 80% for Americans. I keep hearing Brits and Canadians say the internet was a phenomenon of the 2000s. What? Ah. You backwards motherfuckers weren't online, is all. At any rate, as they started coming online, their anti-Americanism started spreading all over the place. But it was more than that. I started seeing lots of soy-guzzling, Millennial Americans just accepting the abuse everywhere. It was repulsive. Indeed, it's quite possible they were being trained on reddit to hate their own country.
