Remember that godawful Will Smith version of Wild Wild West? It was exactly like that, except without the giant mechanical spider. That's what Aaron Burr actually planned to do, steal Texas with a militia and a legal loophole, then sell it off to the enemies of the United States.

Huh, in school history was nothing but the 13 original colonies and a few other wars. Never heard about this. Might have to read about this sometime

A tale of intrigue and mystery! Agatha Christie never wrote anything so compelling. I bet this was mentioned in passing by one of my teachers, but nothing more than that since nothing was ever proven.
