I hope you are right. Yes it is true that the "never Trumpers" are likely almost entirely democrat voters anyways, but how many of them, especially young ones in College or the lazy parents basement dwelling ones didn't go out to vote last time, which leads me to address the next part of your comment.

I do not believe this to be BS at all. I obviously cannot speak to how widespread it is, but as someone who lives in Northern Virginia, in a very liberal area, and having spoken to well over 100 people at my work and community about politics, I have encountered dozens who have stated they didn't bother to go out and vote because "Hilary was going to win" or because "NOVA is and always will be blue anyways, so why bother". This could very well be the case for other areas too, especially strongly liberal ones such as large cities.
