I grew up in the area and am taking my family back in a few weeks and was wondering how hard it is at the moment to get a picture semi-near the White House? When I lived near DC there was always lunatics out in front of the White House, but it looks really bad right now. My daughter wants to go badly, but I don’t want her (or myself) to get caught in a mob of rioters either.

I think you can go to the South Lawn. Most of the protests are in Lafayette Park on the North Lawn side. I haven't seen anything on the Ellipse side. Stay away from the north side. It's a zoo.
Are you a statue?
I'd say no if you are a statue
Well, fat, that's going to depend on whether you're voting for Biden or not... If you know what I'm saying

I live in DC. Yeah, it's fine. When they first started protesting it might not have been safe near the White House at night (and maybe still isn't). But as always the cops are out in full force and nothing happens during the day.
Thanks! I I knew most that from living there, just needed to make sure I don’t get caught in a riot or “peaceful protest”, especially since I’ll have a younger child with me! Is the Metro still safe? I was actually a little leery about taking it.
If it were me, I'd postpone a family trip to DC until Fall. But that's just me. Who knows what's going to trigger massive riots in the coming days and weeks.
