Too many Yankees from NY and NJ. It’s that simple. They’re fucking locusts. They devour their home and then move onto a new host.

While continuing to VOTE for the same shit that led to them leaving NY/NJ in the first place. You can’t fix stupid.

Yankee checking in, there are literally dozens of us patriots! The rest moving down here are bringing shitty policy positions with them. Don’t be fooled, it’s by design. Before the wuflu it was socialist economic policy forcing people south, now they’ll be the only open states where you can find work.

And then they’re shocked and blame something else when it fucking happens. IMHO, one of the best things Clinton did was drop massive federal funding on cities to try to stop them from being shitholes. Guys like Giuliani and Daley jammed a boot in criminal ass and NYC and Chicago became pretty decent places. Not great, but not absolute shitholes. Within a matter of a few months, years of bipartisan good deeds have been undone and those places will revert to absolute shitstains on humanity.

OKitsJustaTypo 15 points ago +15 / -0

My first visit to NYC was pre-Giuliani.
Filthy, everything stunk, all my family members were robbed.

My next visit was after Giuliani began implementing his methods. Astonishing difference, Manhattan was like Disney World. I walked from the SW financial district uptown to C.Park, took a nap on the lawn and nobody bothered me!

Last year I visited all 5 boroughs, was surprised how much prices had gone up, nearly $20 simply to drive across the bridge for Staten Island. How NYers keep voting for De Blasio, Schumer and AOC is grisly.

10

Durham ain’t even the most leftist city in North Carolina.

8
MobileDev4Trump 8 points ago +8 / -0

Lists like that should be taken with a grain of salt. I would put DC at number 2 from my travel experiences. I don't have much knowledge of NC outside of visiting family in Charlotte and doing contracting at Fort Bragg for a week or two.

11
pepperconchobhar 11 points ago +11 / -0

Sadly, AOC just won her primary. That says a LOT. The left is totally lost now.

All we can do is bust out butts to get the middle and do whatever we can to increase the turnout.

11
OKitsJustaTypo 11 points ago +11 / -0

AOC's district has a population of over 700,000.

She's only received 27,460 votes so far but that's enough for a 53-point "landslide" over her nearest challenger (7,393 votes).

People who don't vote have to live with the consequences of their apathy.

6

are you a paid political guy? because that sounds like something a paid political guy would say. Not trying to start shit, just calling a duck a duck :)

I dont know man, maybe you're right. Maybe the only way this doesn't end badly is if we win the election....and in that case the only thing we really can do to help our chances is, like you said, get the middle and increase turnout.

1
pepperconchobhar 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've been with T_D since 2016. I don't see how that sounds like 'a paid political guy.' It's the freaking truth. (And I'm not even a guy, pal.)

I'm frustrated because I sense that too many people are getting apathetic. We do NOT have this in the bag. Plenty of people hate AOC and she had a solid opponent, but enough of the zombies turned up to push her through easily.

These entrenched politicians make me sick. She's a mini-Maxine Waters and (in her own way) a new Pelosi. And she'll be there until she dies. We desperately need term limits for these turds.

We need to fight like hell and not relent until we cross the finish line.

8
Rocketman29 8 points ago +9 / -1

It's the Raleigh, charlotte, Durham areas. It's the whole "vote blue no matter who". Some are waking up to the nonsense but I dont know if that's enough to counter the voter fraud coming out of mecklenburg county.

6
YouKnowWhatItIs87 6 points ago +6 / -0

True, but after all this, in the liberal enclave on the coast of NC (can probably guess accurately where I’m at), Trump supporters are a dime a dozen, but there’s still a big “woke” crowd of people my age and younger. Thing is, I hang out with a lot of them, probably 80% simply don’t vote despite their opinion of things. So that’s good, there will be massive fraud, no doubt, but as of now I still believe Trump takes NC.

Oh yeah Roy Cooper also cost small biz who’d been closed for months an estimated $53 million by kicking the RNC Convention out of Charlotte. Nobody’s really made a huge deal out of it, but it happened and I won’t forget. DNC was there in CTL back during Obama, I think 2012 maybe 08 idk, but if I were a biz owner in that area, I’d still be fully supportive of them the ping the convention. Almost like he was proud to cost people $ and w/ COVID many people’s livelihood.

oh it gets better. glimpse from California

https://ballotpedia.org/California_Repeal_Proposition_209_Affirmative_Action_Amendment_(2020)

Not the 'Affirmative action' name. now read carefully the part of state constitution this removes

(a) The State shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting.

(b) This section shall apply only to action taken after the section's effective date.

(c) Nothing in this section shall be interpreted as prohibiting bona fide qualifications based on sex which are reasonably necessary to the normal operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting.

(d) Nothing in this section shall be interpreted as invalidating any court order or consent decree which is in force as of the effective date of this section.

(e) Nothing in this section shall be interpreted as prohibiting action which must be taken to establish or maintain eligibility for any federal program, where ineligibility would result in a loss of federal funds to the State.

(f) For the purposes of this section, "State" shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the State itself, any city, county, city and county, public university system, including the University of California, community college district, school district, special district, or any other political subdivision or governmental instrumentality of or within the State.

(g) The remedies available for violations of this section shall be the same, regardless of the injured party's race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin, as are otherwise available for violations of then-existing California antidiscrimination law.

(h) This section shall be self-executing. If any part or parts of this section are found to be in conflict with federal law or the United States Constitution, the section shall be implemented to the maximum extent that federal law and the United States Constitution permit. Any provision held invalid shall be severable from the remaining portions of this section.[2]

Tl,Dr - i think that it now may be legal in California to decide hiring in education based on all those protected classes? I am not sure if someone could still protect themselves from discrimination like that using federal law - I don't know very well why they have these seemingly overlapping laws at both state and federal level, but I am thinking probably not just for shits and giggles.

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0
1
iamherefortheluls 1 point ago +1 / -0

If you meant as when this was in place - maybe. Don't States get to decide their own rules for things like education? Now it's all gone, including that last section.

I don't know why in US States even have their own constitutions that seem to cover the same thing the federal laws does. However it's just a weird thing to strike down now. And they are not claiming it was redundant or anything - all the MSM is saying this section prevent 'affirmative action'. But they could have added a clause that allows affirmative action, instead they just removed that whole thing.

it's going through senate and will than be up to referendum.

all the MSM are describing it as pro-affirmative action which is highly misleading

1
fazaman 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, considering that affirmative action is, by definition, discrimination based on race, then repealing their equal protection clause would be 'pro-affirmative action', right?

They don't want equality. They want punishment for perceived 'crimes'.

The great thing is, anyone is free to lockdown at any time if they want to! Everyone doesn't need to be forced to, or you end up with situations like the Boston mayor saying "no one has antibodies because everyone locked down, so we have to stay locked down because no one has antibodies." Its gonna spread through the population regardless, if you are high risk stay home. If you're healthy go about your life.

30
Aquamine-Amarine 30 points ago +31 / -1

Exactly. Stay at home if you want to, but stop forcing everyone else to comply with this bullshit. People are so damn paranoid over the flu. I know some people have weak immune systems and in previous years they've always taken extra precautions during flu season. Why the hell is this year so different? We never shut down the world before just because a small percentage of the population have weak immune systems...

8
bangbus 8 points ago +8 / -0

That’s what Japan has done. The Germ will likely kill you if you are really old, really sick or really obese. The Japanese just told everyone to wear a mask and for the vulnerable to stay home. They don’t test you for it unless you are really vulnerable or really sick because for most people under 60 who are in shape, The Germ poses fairly low (but not 0) risk.

Add ObamaGate and BLM to all this, yeah the media IS destroying this country, and have been for a while, this is just the latest iteration and possibly the most treasonous. Part of it is, many of us here are news junkies, but I know at least 2 people who mentioned the news of our “potential re-lockdown” in NC and they work manual labor jobs and just come home maybe watch the 6 o’clock news and browse Facebook. Politically, like assholes they have opinions, but they don’t know what the hell’s going on, yet they’re legit afraid. These are good people who just want to work and live a good life, and just stay at least half ass informed on the top stories, and they’re scared to death. It gets to people and that’s a serious problem. Somebody else told me today, we’ve got roughly 120 positives (and most of those have recovered, only like 2 deaths), but they’re telling me “do the math, this county has a higher infection rate based on our population relative to other areas.” Goes hand in hand with a recent news story “COVID cases SURGE 220% in this County” 23 motherfucking people outta 210,000, that’s the 220%.

15
KeyboardWarrior 15 points ago +15 / -0

65% means that at least One Pede wants it. 0% pedes want it, therefore, they asked a small sample of people.

6
nothankslol 6 points ago +8 / -2

65% of sampled Americans. It's not uncommon nor misleading phrasing in statistics so long as sampling methods are transparent. Nobody expects the entire population to be polled.

8
Watermelons 8 points ago +8 / -0

This. The central limit theorem shows the proportion is a very good estimate as long as the sampling method is valid. Usually these polls are something like +/-3%.

4
magaphraust 4 points ago +5 / -1

What it really means, if the pollsters are even honest, is 65% of the type of people that would not immediately hang up when answering their phone and being asked if they can spare a few minutes to answer some survey questions, would rather return to lockdown.

Red states might be okay to reopen if their state leadership is not completely pozzed, but for those of us in blue states, we have no choice. Small businesses are shut down, yet the major corporations all seem to be essential. I can't get a haircut lest I kill someone's grandma with the Chinese Coof but I can go get liquor and weed no problem. And jobs? Tons of openings for delivery work, maintenance work but not much else. I would rather slice my own throat and be done with it before working for Jeff Bezos

I think they only ask people in blue enclaves like mine (though I'm 48 years old and not been polled once in my life). I was on a large call yesterday working for a fortune 500 company. Most callers were local. As people trickled in the topic was covid and how staying isolated is still the only wise choice. Hey, maybe it is but if having no liberty is wise then let me remain a fool forever.

Don't fall for this bull crap, these polls are selectively used to shape public opinion, not the other way around.

1
HeavyHebrew 1 point ago +1 / -0

Using statistics to frame a narrative to influence public opinion via mass media. What's a ten letter word starting with P for this?

2

Paranormal?

11
mechdork 11 points ago +11 / -0

It's dumb. We're all going to get it eventually anyway. I'm all for ripping the bandaid off and taking my chances.

I'm tired of watching everyone live in fear and whining and crying over it. All local posts are about "OMG nobody is wearing masks HOW DARE YOU!"

5
Skogin 5 points ago +5 / -0

Exactly. Bunch of fucking pussies.

Nothing has fundamentally changed: Risk of injury and death every day, same as it ever was. Besides that, warm weather is the best time to face the challenge.

Can we blow this narrative to pieces already?

Fatality rate is really low, close to 0.1%, continuing to decline.

Yes, lots more cases. But how many of those cases are severe? If a huge amount of them are asymptomatic, is that not good news?

Masks are not proven to stop the virus. It literally says so on the box. Stop trying to make masks a thing, they will never be cool, they will never be hip, they’ll never be anything more than a face diaper that signals your obedience.

Trump says we’re not going back on lockdown... but many states and cities already are. If he doesn’t meaningfully address it... then it’s just words. Fuck this China Virus, fuck your lockdowns, fuck your masks, fuck virtual events, and fuck staying 6 feet apart.

THERE WILL NEVER BE A NEW NORMAL

4
sunwolf87 4 points ago +4 / -0

FUCK THEIR NEW NORMAL!!!

3
RabidZoo 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hopefully the next "new normal" is one without Marxists trying to sabotage our beautiful country. They're certainly pushing hard for that outcome.

2
bangbus 2 points ago +2 / -0

There already is and we’re living in it. No travel, no commuting, government provides a survival pittance.

1
Skogin 1 point ago +1 / -0

Agreed on all points.

-1
nothankslol -1 points ago +3 / -4

Masks are not proven to stop the virus.

It is certainly not proven but research is promising: https://www.healthaffairs.org/doi/10.1377/hlthaff.2020.00818

Best case, the experts are wrong and you wore a mask for nothing.

Worst case, the experts are right and you helped slow the spread.

Masks don't have to be political.

4
Skogin 4 points ago +4 / -0

What’s the point of slowing the spread again?

Really.

2
nothankslol 2 points ago +2 / -0

Would you rather wear a mask or potentially kill someone (maybe even yourself)? Because that's what it really comes down to.

This disease is killing a lot of people and is very contagious. You might think it's 'just another disease' and not find the fatality rate concerning, but if too many people get infected at once, the healthcare system will be overwhelmed and fatalities will skyrocket.

1
Skogin 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thanks for the reply. I have shared these very ideas for the first 4 months of the year, specifically when there was little data, but no more. Now I am convinced that it is mostly hype / spin, even tho I also assume the virus was engineered. BTW, I am a geneticist, molecular biolologist, in addition to multiple other bio specialties.

2
nothankslol 2 points ago +2 / -0

Are you suggesting that CDC data doesn't actually show severe fatality and infection rates? Or that the data is wrong/misleading?

1
Skogin 1 point ago +1 / -0

The latter, I do not trust the CDC for many reasons.

Yet this is just one facet of a very complex situation.

1
nothankslol 1 point ago +1 / -0

So you think every health entity in the world is colluding with the CDC to present these false statistics?

Exactly. 65 % of Americans are insufferable

7
monkeyseemonkey 7 points ago +7 / -0

Of course they would. More free money from the government (read: taxpayers) the longer the lockdowns go.

2
sunwolf87 2 points ago +2 / -0

Money is never free. If we didn't generate it then someone else did. Could those commies be borrowing from China to increase our already ludicrous national debt?

7

-1

2
bangbus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nah, I just let it go. When that NJ cop video surfaced (cop attacked for no reason and shot after prolonged hand fight that he started to lose) this “man” had the gall to argue the cop in that situation should have an unconditional duty to retreat. My colleague is second generation French so now I just put my paws up and say “I surrender” every time I see him. No need to argue. He knows where I stand. I’m scared he’ll kill himself if Trump wins again. No need to rile these people up.

Indiana is like 9 days from 100% opening with no restrictions. My county hasn't had a case in 3 weeks even with more testing.

We in Indiana haven't had a spike at all, it's been about the same as it has for the last 2 months. But hey, whatever to "flatten the curve to prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed?" Now it's "OMG WE MUST SHUT DOWN TIL IT"S OVER!"

All cause the hoax didn't work out the way they wanted.

Fuck off pinkos.
