There was a place called SlateStarCodex. It wasn't left or right, the author tried only to make the best arguments they could for or against every position based on the best data and analysis anyone could find. It helped that he was a trained scientist who knew good research methods and statistics to weed out bogus or just plain weak studies.
It's gone now, some "journalist" at NYT decided to dox the author, putting his patients at risk.
I feel like a lot of the world's ills are due to our clickbait "journalists" right now, they're trusted far too much for a bunch of liberal arts majors trying to rush to summarize important things they don't even begin to understand. It's why they changed from reporting facts to selling narratives. And they insulate themselves from criticism by harassing their critics, making it hard to review them.
Trump bursting some of their bubbles is the best thing to happen in a long time.
